A full-time, FAPESP-funded postdoctoral position is available at the laboratory of Biochemistry of Oxidants and Radicals at the Chemistry Institute USP, São Paulo, Brazil. The project aims to characterize protein cross-links produced by oxidative processes in vitro and in biological samples, investigating the role of these modifications in protein dysfunction, oligomerization and aggregation. The project will take place in the highly collaborative environment of the RIDC Redoxoma (http://redoxoma.iq.usp.br/). This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality for 30 days after publication.
Eligibility: Candidates have a PhD degree (for less than six years) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields. Previous experience with LS-MS/MS of oxidized proteins (including bioinformatics tools) and/or free radical chemistry and NMR analysis are desirable. Candidates should send a letter of motivation of up to one page, curriculum vitae to Professor Ohara Augusto ́s email (oaugusto@iq.usp.br).
Salary: The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) of R$ 7.373,10/monthly (about U$ 1,376.00/monthly) and a research contingency fund 10% of the annual value of the fellowship to spend in items related to the research activity.
