Tinker Research Grants for Summer 2017

2017 Tinker Field Research Grants are available to individuals for travel and field-related expenses for brief periods of pre-dissertation field research in Latin America, defined here as the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of the region. Awards are open to students across all academic disciplines and graduate degree programs.
KEY DATES
– Informational Meeting on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 12:00 pm in the CLAS Conference Room (2334 Bowditch).
– Application due Monday, February 20, 2017, at 5:00 pm
– Funding awarded mid- to late- March

Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships provide funding to students to encourage the study of critical and less commonly taught foreign languages in combination with area studies or international aspects of professional studies. Fellowships are funded by the U.S. Department of Education to promote the training of students who intend to make their careers in higher education, government service, or other employment where knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is essential.
Fellowships are offered for both academic year and summer programs.
The application deadline for both the Academic Year and Summer FLAS is January 31, 2017.
