Dear TYAN EC Members,
I hope you are doing well!
I am writing to you to let you know about a fascinating and extremely worthwhile initiative on Clean Energy in South America. I paste below some information.
I am sharing the information regarding the “ICTP Caribbean School on Materials for Clean Energy,” to be held in Cartagena (Colombia) from May 30 to June 5, 2019.
This event is intended as a meeting place among researchers working on materials of relevance for the production, storage, conversion, and efficient use of clean energy; to show methodologies from a multiscale perspective and discuss the experimental and theoretical state of the art, current challenges, possible developments, and future collaborations in the field. For more information, registration, and updates, please checkhttp://indico.ictp.it/event/8688/
The ICTP events are supported by UNESCO, and they have no registration costs for the participants. A participation fee will be charged to cover lodging (incl. breakfast), social dinner, and special edition bag. However, in addition to contributing to the school logistics, ICTP is also offering to cover some travel expenses for top students from the region. Because of the above, a high attendance from all Latin American countries is expected and welcomed in this regional school.
The following list of speakers have already confirmed participation in this event:
N. Marzari (EPFL)
A. Oganov (Skoltech)
P. Balbuena (TAMU)
F. Giustino (Oxford)
C. R. Miranda (USP)
E. Menendez (U. Chile)
S. Scandolo (ICTP)
