We are pleased to invite you to participate in the “Molecular Biosystems” Conference on Eukaryotic Gene Regulation and Functional Genomics, to be held at the Cumbres Hotel in Puerto Varas, Región de Los Lagos, Chile.
The meeting will cover a wide variety of topics centered on eukaryotic gene expression, with a strong focus on global approaches for the study of gene regulation and function. This conference aims to bring together scientists from all over the world, at different stages of their scientific careers, to discuss recent advances in this active and fast-paced area of research.
The first session will begin at 3 pm on Saturday, September 23 and the meeting will end at around 1 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, right before the beginning of the 40th edition of the Annual Meeting of the Chilean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which will also take place in Puerto Varas.
Preliminary List of Topics
Transcriptional Regulation
Epigenetics & Chromatin structure
Genome-Scale & Integrative Biology
Evolution
Post-transcriptional Regulation
Regulatory RNAs
Developmental Networks & Cell Signaling
Cancer Genomics
Circadian Rhythms
The program features six sessions devoted to oral presentations and two poster sessions. Some of the talks (~40 %) will be selected by the organizers from submitted abstracts. In addition, there will be two “Elevator Pitch” sessions, in which authors of selected poster presentations will have 3 minutes to present their work during plenary sessions.
This will be a small conference, limited to ~120 attendees, thus providing a prime opportunity for networking.
We really hope to have as many young people as possible attend this meeting, particularly Chilean researchers. We have applied for funds to partially support graduate students and postdocs and we will post news about this on the site.
News regarding abstract submission and registration (including key dates) will be posted on this site. Make sure you check the latest news, follow us on Twitter and add your email address to our mailing list.
Please send all your questions related to registration, fees, housing, meals, transportation, visas, abstract submission or any other matters to this email address.
We hope to see you in Chile’s lake district next September!
