A postdoctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Stress Neurobiology in Valparaíso, Chile. We use rodent models to elucidate the mechanisms associated to the relationship between stress and neuropsychiatric disorders. Specific interests include elucidating the basis of the impact of chronic stress on neural circuit that modulates attention and decision-making during adulthood and aging.
Our approaches span from basic histology to in vivo recording (oscillations and spike) in behaving rats. This postdoctoral position is funded by the project “From Presbycusis to Dementia. A basic and clinical approach” from the PIA-CONICYT program: Anillo de Investigacion en Ciencia ACT1403.
In particular, the eligible postdoctoral researcher will perform in vivo recording during an attentional task in control and chronically stressed rats. The beginning of this postdoctoral position (44 h per week) is on March 2018.
Requisite and expected skills:
– PhD in neurosciences, physics, engineering, biological or biomedical sciences (degree after 2013).
– Behavior.
– In vivo recording.
– Signal analysis (LFP and spikes).
– Neurosurgery (rodents).
– Basic histology.
– Ability to work in an interdisciplinary group of researchers.
