El seminario será en la sala de reuniones del segundo piso del edificio de investigación, Avda. Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins 3363 este viernes 11, a las 14 hrs.
Abstract:
In this talk we will review the study of front microrheology through the development of a device and method that describes accurately the nonlinear rheology of biofluids, mainly blood, by means of the characterization of the fluid-air interface. We study the fluid front since is a direct, easy and cheap method to study fluid flows. The motivation for the study is the high relevance that blood has in the diagnostics of diseases and the advantages of microfluidics. We have developed a method which enables to establish a relation between blood viscosity and its red blood cells characteristics.
